Children at Corona
Teeth into the future![]() Children are a focus at Corona Dental. A successful visit requires that the child feel comfortable and un-rushed. We make the effort to ensure that your child understands what is going on and gets pleasant distractions when appropriate. Using the tell-show-do approach, along with breathing techniques help children cope with their appointments. Working with parents and family together is key.
We recommend that you bring your child for their first visit after their first teeth erupt, at around 6 months of age. We make sure these early visits are lots of fun, so we can help your child develop a positive attitude towards dental visits. |

Kids and Good Oral Health

- A child’s toothbrush should be changed every one to three months or immediately after an illness.
When shopping for school supplies and new clothes, look for a new toothbrush as well.
- Saliva inhibits the growth of bacteria that contribute to tooth decay and gum disease.
Save sweets for mealtimes rather than between meals, as the amount of saliva produced at mealtimes will help protect your child’s teeth.
- Mouthguards not only protect a child’s teeth, they may also prevent concussions and other serious injuries to the head and jaw.
Remember to either purchase a mouthguard for each child or discuss this with your dentist. Mouthguards should be used even for non-contact sports, such as gymnastics and volleyball.
